Dragon’s Lair
Consistent with its rural
heritage, dogs are always
very welcome at The
Dragon - provided, of
course, that they are well-
trained and behaved. So,
too, are the many horses
that frequent the lanes of
this area of Hertfordshire
and Buckinghamshire.
Indeed, a safe and purpose-
designed sanctuary with
hitching rail for several
horses is thoughtfully
provided within the pub’s
own car park - which can
also accommodate up to 30
vehicles.
Dragons Pantry
The Dragon’s only significant compromise in
respect of English pub cultural tradition can
be seen in its cuisine - which can be enjoyed
either within the beamed restaurant, which
seats 20, or, less formally, in the bar areas.
Alongside the traditional ‘pub grub’ menu and
selection of sandwiches freshly made to
order, there is a quality Thai menu featuring
over 40 authentic dishes - all served daily
(except Mondays) untill 10pm.
Four real ales
Real ales customarily on offer are Fullers
ESB - winner of more CAMRA awards than
any other beer - and the ubiquitous Fullers
London Pride, alongside Youngs and
Tribute.
Always available as well to meet other
preferences and tastes are draft Guinness
and a dark mild, together with lagers and
cider and a panoply of bottled beers.

The Dragon’s Lair
Connoisseurs of English village pub culture will love The Green Dragon - a
freehouse often described by surprised and delighted visitors as ‘a proper
local’. Certainly, the relaxed ambience created by the beautiful,
sympathetically-extended building - much of it dating from the 17th Century -
is unarguably enticing.
